Why we made Mindrise.

One quote, held for a whole day, works the way a mantra does: you meet it over the morning coffee, catch it again in the afternoon, and by evening it has quietly become yours. The voices are not all off one shelf — Buddha, Newton, Lincoln,Carl Jung, and much more... — because a line that lands on a Tuesday is as likely to come from a songwriter as from a Stoic. It is set in e-ink — matte, unlit, as still as ink on paper — inside a frame of solid wood, so the words and the thing holding them feel like one object.

Every Mindrise is custom made in the USA, by us: we design and build the electronics, and we make the frames. Each one is cut, sanded and finished by hand in solid oak, maple or walnut, so no two pieces of grain are quite alike.
